What's New at Holland
Shippers praise Holland quality
For the 25th consecutive year, Holland earned the coveted Logistics Management Quest for Quality award, receiving the distinction in two categories: Midwest/North Central regional LTL and Expedited Motor Carriers.
Shippers' voting determines who receives the Quest for Quality recognition. And who better to judge service levels and acknowledge excellence in the key attributes of on-time performance, value, information technology, customer service, and equipment and operations?
Shippers know the Holland network blankets the Midwest and Southeast with coverage, and that translates to more next-day lanes than any other provider in the region.
Leading the region in next-day lanes is not enough. Shippers also want a provider that will get shipments delivered on time and in good shape. That's Holland.
Our on-time performance in August averaged 96 percent, and we attained 99 percent for guaranteed and expedited services! Our claim ratio is 0.36 percent . . . about a third of the industry average. This means you can count on Holland to have shipments where you need them and in original condition, so you can keep your production lines moving and your retail shelves stocked for sales.
Shippers also know that information technology and timely communications are essential in high-quality customer service. They see our real-time online tracking updates and automatic shipment notifications as a way to improve the service they offer their customers.
For more than 80 years, Holland has been delighting customers. And when you look at our combination of on-time performance, damage-free delivery, customer service, information technology, equipment and operations . . . it all adds up to a tremendous value for your supply chain.

Transporting our heartfelt appreciation
When a St. Louis radio station and the Teamsters Local 600 organized the collection of care packages for troops in Afghanistan, Holland was there to help.
On Saturday, July 31, donations of non-perishable food, health and hygiene products, travel games and stationery poured in—enough to fill more than 700 care packages! Holland employees helped sort, package and seal individual boxes, and then transported the boxes to government facilities for shipping to Afghanistan.
While Holland is known for on-time, damage-free shipping, this project achieved even greater results—the happiness of our country's soldiers who face danger and struggle with the loneliness of missing loved ones everyday.
Thank you to all who made contributions for this important mission. We were proud to be part of the response.
". . . Your boxes could not have arrived at a better time . . . in a remote area lying next to Pakistan, there is a group of young soldiers who are still celebrating the riches contained in those packages . . . Thank you so much . . . You made their day . . . week . . . and their month." --Lyn P.
". . . a heartfelt thanks, not only from myself, but all the men and women that are here with me. I am amazed that the city of St. Louis could pull together in such a huge way to make a difference in the quality of our lives here!!! I really wish that you could have seen the looks on our faces as we were opening the boxes this afternoon—priceless!!" —Staff Sgt. Scott F.
"I heard from a soldier that received a care package sent from your Troop Care Package event . . . I wish I could convey how much he appreciated the package. He said 'getting something from home is a huge, big deal,' and helps him and all the soldiers get through the tough times." —Aunt Kathy
"Just got the best care package in the world. Milk, pudding and chocolate. Who put my name on that list?"
—1st Lt. Brady H.
". . . Just wanted to thank you for the care packages I received. It was greatly appreciated and it's nice to know people back home still think of us." —Lt. Cpl. C.
